How should I store chocolate?

Answered By Annecy Carlyle

Wrap your chocolate with foil and then with plastic wrap. Keep the chocolate at a temperature around 60-72°F. The pantry or dark cabinet is an ideal place for storing your chocolate. It can have a shelf life for about a year if properly stored.

An airtight container should be used because the flavors from other foods are easily picked up by chocolate.

Chocolate is very sensitive, a sudden change of temperature is its number one enemy. Keeping it in the refrigerator or freezer is not a good idea, but in case you do, take it out and thaw it. Let it stand in room temperature before using it in your recipe.
